About Us
As members of the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA), Wake Forest Club Baseball is a competitive alternative to playing NCAA baseball. Our goal is to play high-level competition in the Southeast without having to sacrifice our dedication to academics or social commitments while in college. We are officially recognized and chartered by the Wake Forest Office for Campus Recreation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are tryouts like?
Tryouts are a two-day process in the beginning of the fall semester (soon after the Fall Involvement Fair in September). The first day consists of infield/outfield and pitching evaluation outdoors (on campus). The second day is an indoor hitting evaluation in the cages (off-campus). Players who are trying out will be evaluated by club officers and a few select returning starters. We plan to keep roughly 30 players on our roster every year. Please submit the Tryout Questionnaire if you're interested in trying out for the 2021-22 year.
Can I tryout for and join the team if I don't have a car on campus?
Of course! Upperclassmen will be happy to provide rides to off-campus tryouts, practices, and games. Please email us at clubbaseballwfu@gmail.com, text the current president, or DM us on Twitter for more information.
What equipment do I need to play?
We have batting helmets, catcher's gear (we recommend bringing your own if possible), and a couple team bats. You'll need to have your own mitt, batting gloves, and cleats.

For uniforms, players will purchase their jerseys and hats through the BSN Sports team shop before the season begins.
Where does the team practice and play home games?
Outdoor practices are held on Watertower Field, which is the astroturf field directly across from the Law School (follow signs for Palmer and Piccolo Halls). Indoor practices are held off-campus at Baseball Positive (1612 S Stratford Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27103).

Home games are played either at David F. Couch Ballpark or a local high school field (e.g. Reagan, Reynolds, Mt. Tabor, etc.).
How often does the team practice?
Weather permitting, we usually practice twice per week with one outdoor fielding session and one indoor hitting session.
How many games does the team play per year?
We typically aim for 3-4 single-day doubleheaders with nearby teams for the fall season. As for the spring, the NCBA schedules 4-5 weekend series, which consist of two 7-inning games on Saturday and one 7-inning game on Sunday. We also schedule a few non-conference games in the spring. This adds up to roughly 20-25 total games, depending on the year.
How is playing time determined?
The lineups are set by the President and Vice President, but our team prides itself on transparent, direct communication among all players. Nobody is guaranteed playing time, but we aim to rotate players as much as competition allows. We are a club that seeks to win at a high level but with a relaxed attitude.
Are there any club dues?
No, our team does not require any dues. However, players will have to pay for their own uniforms when first joining the team. All players will also have to pay for their own food when traveling for away games. Hotels, batting cages, and other administrative expenses are covered by our WFU Campus Rec budget.
How can I make a donation to the team?
Thank you for wanting to support our team! As our team grows, so will our expenses (e.g. hotels, equipment, etc.). You can submit a donation through Wake Forest's secure online donation portal, and please specify "Club Baseball" as the intended recipient of your donation in the Gift Information section.
Please email clubbaseballwfu@gmail.com with any questions.
